The North Wales Regional
Tennis Centre is a Pay ‘n’ Play tennis facility open to all members of the public – there’s no membership
required!
The Tennis
Centre is run on behalf of Wrexham Council by a not-for-profit management company and offers tennis activities, coaching courses
and individual lessons for juniors and adults, from beginners through to aspiring professionals.
From a modest start in 1990, with 3 indoor and 2 outdoor tennis courts, the Centre has grown
to become one of the most successful in the UK, now boasting 6 indoor and 6 outdoor tennis courts. An extension
project is currently underway to add one more outdoor court, another indoor court and two indoor Mini Tennis courts, specifically
for the under 8’s.
Through Wrexham Tennis Academy,
led by Head Coach Dan Sanders (PCA), the Centre is recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association as a High Performance Centre
– one of only 18 in the UK.
The Academy offers full- and part-time tennis and education programmes for aspiring tennis professionals,
with a progressive coaching programme from age 4 through to adult and its players have seen a good deal of success to date.
The Centre is also an important tournament
venue for hosting local, national and international tournaments, giving the Academy players easy access to tournaments at
all levels of competition.
