Wrexham Tennis Centre is a Pay ‘n’
Play tennis facility open to all members of the public – there’s no membership or subscription required!
From a modest start in 1990, with 3 indoor and 2 outdoor tennis courts, the Centre has grown to become one of the most successful
in the UK.
The building is owned by Wrexham County Borough Council, but run on its behalf by a charity (North Wales Regional
Tennis Centre Ltd: Charity Number 1144460). The Directors of the company, all
tennis enthusiasts, are unpaid volunteers.
Various tennis activities
for beginners through to aspiring professionals run each week, including junior and adult coaching courses, individual lessons
and social group sessions. More information on these activities can be found on the tabs on the left.
Through the High Performance Academy,
led by Head Coach Dan Sanders (MPC), the Centre is recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association as a High Performance Centre
– one of only 18 in the UK.
The Academy offers full- and part-time tennis and education
programmes for aspiring tennis professionals, with a progressive coaching programme from age 4 through to adult and its players
have seen a good deal of success to date.
The
Centre is also an important tournament venue for hosting local, national and international tournaments, giving the Academy
players easy access to tournaments at all levels of competition.
