The
Tennis Centre
The Tennis Centre was opened
in 1990 under the LTA's Indoor Tennis Initiative.
All the indoor courts and outdoor courts 5 to 11 are available for public hire on a ‘Pay and Play’ basis;
i.e. open to all, with no membership system or subscription required.
To use the Centre you can book and
pay for a court by the hour, or you can join in one of the many organised social pay ‘n’ play sessions or coaching courses.
The
Centre is owned by Wrexham County Borough Council, but leased to, and run on its behalf, by a private non-profit making company (North Wales
Regional Tennis Centre Ltd). The Directors of the Company, all tennis enthusiasts, are unpaid volunteers.
The company employs the staff who work in the Centre.
Since 1990 the Centre has undergone three extension projects to increase the number of indoor
and outdoor courts, along with ancillary facilities and viewing areas. Please see the Facilities section for full details.
The Centre has a long-standing history of hosting local, regional
and major national & international tournaments and provides high quality tennis coaching for all ages and abilities.
Our commitment to providing the best possible tennis programmes in a friendly and affordable facility is evident through our
achievement of becoming a High Performance Centre and achieving Tennis Clubmark.
